Prof. Raphael Olanrewaju Babatunde, is a Professor of Agricultural Economics with over 20 years teaching and research experience at the Department of Agricultural Economics and Farm Management, University of Ilorin, Nigeria. His research interest includes Development Economics, Agricultural Enterprise Development and Labour Market nexus, Health Economics, Impact Assessment and Sustainability. Over the years he has carried out research on different studies that have enhanced policy implementation in Nigeria. Similarly, he is currently supporting the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) as a CAADP Technical Expert to conduct a health and safety impact assessment of climate smart agricultural practices among smallholder farmers in Nigeria. Prof. Babatunde is one of the Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Expert working with African Union Commission (AUC) and other partners to prepare the health and safety component of the Malabo Declaration Biennial Review and Africa Agriculture Transformation Scorecards which is to be presented to the Africa Heads of State and Government every two years at the AU Assembly. Prof. Babatunde was a Visiting Professor at the Chair of Development Economics, University of Passau, Germany in 2015. Prior to this, he was a Visiting Researcher at the department of Globalization, Trade and Regional Integration, Nordic Africa Institute (NAI), Uppsala, Sweden in 2013. He was also a Visiting Fellow and Scholar at the Research Group on Food Security and Livelihoods, African Studies Centre (ASC), University of Leiden, Netherlands and Visiting Researcher at the department of Public Economics, University of Pavia, Italy in 2012 and 2010 respectively. He is a Fellow of the Centre for International Cooperation and Development (CICOPS), University of Pavia, Italy and the Team Lead of Development Economics Research Group, University of Ilorrin, Nigeria. He is a technical consultant to the Centre for Sustainable Agricultural Empowerment (CSAE). He is happily married and blessed with children.
